It's a good day

My double stroller got here on Thursday. I absolutely LOVE it. I will be excited when I can actually jog with it. Only a few more weeks before I get to start working out! I need to lose 10 lbs. by the time we fly back to SC (June 30-July 10). That's two pounds a week but I can do it. I only have eight more pounds to go. I am sad that Sammy isn't going back with us... but we will all go back for two weeks in October so I guess it's okay. After Caralee wakes up from her nap we are all going to go to the park (with my awesome stroller of course)!

Not sick anymore!

Well after about a week of being sick with the chills, sweats and just plain ole soreness I am finally feeling better. I went a round with a breast infection and unfortunately it really beat me down! But now I am fine. Today is the day my double stroller should be arriving and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the UPS man. I will be CRUSHED if it doesn't come today. I just ate a Subway sandwich (MmmmMMM!). Sammy brought home sandwiches last night for dinner and I saved half of mine for lunch today. Jackson is currently sitting in his high chair eating his half. He actually seems to be putting the meat in one part of the tray and eating the tomatoes and lettuce (weirdo). Haha he's the most precious little boy in the world. Everybody says they have sweet kids but they've never met little Jackson. His mean bone is probably about the size of a pencil eraser. Caralee is napping in her bassinet so there isn't much to say about her except she probably isn't happy that she's outgrown her newborn clothes and I'm still squeezing her into one of the outfits because I just can't seem to give it up yet! Sammy is doing his first week long job as an Engineer this week. He just started today and luckily he is working the day shift! We are so proud of him... he has worked so hard to get where he is right now. I will be buying a plane ticket soon so I can take the kiddos back to South Carolina this summer for about 10 days. Oh boy, I am nervous about flying with two young uns under the age of two. I'm sure it will be fine. It will only be about 5 hours long from the time we walk into the airport until we walk out. **Every time I hear a big truck I jump up and run to check to see if it's the UPS man. I've already got up 4 times while writing this.** It seems Jackson is done with lunch so I better clean him up before he gets lettuce in his hair.

Hardest Day

Well today is the hardest day since we've brought Caralee home from the hospital. After only getting 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night my day began. Jackson is having a rough time right now because he just popped a molar out last night! After digging the end of a crayon out of his mouth I felt it and finally figured out why he was so grumpy! I gave him a little Tylenol and he took a good nap and now he is wide open. Caralee isn't much trouble as she just sleeps a lot still. She just had a hard time sleeping last night! Sammy got home from work at 10 a.m. so I am trying to keep Jackson from bothering him while he tries to sleep. So I am just a little exhausted but it is all worth it. I decided to take the day easy and relax. So we three are in the kitchen area just hanging out listening to folk/bluegrass music. Jackson needs to be educated on good music so he doesn't grow up wanting to listen to rap or something like that. So hopefully with him growing up listening to classic country, folk and bluegrass he'll carry on the tradition (I'm only half kidding).

On a super positive note I ordered a jogging double stroller. I am so excited... it will be here Monday! It will be a couple more weeks before I actually jog with it but I can't wait to get out of the house and take a stroll with the kiddos. Thank you Sammy for buying me such an awesome stroller!!

Cute girl

Just wanted to add these sweet pictures of Caralee. I think she looks beautiful (of course) and super comfy in the other picture.

Thanks Mom

I just wanted to say thank you to my mom who came and helped me out with the babies! She helped out so much! Jackson had somebody new to play with and she would take him on walks and to the park almost every single day. He probably loved having his Nonnie here more than I did... and that's saying something! I wish we lived closer so he could see her and everybody else more. One day we will be close! Anyways, thanks Mom, not just for helping when you came up here but for all you do.

Welcome, sweet princess.

Caralee Grace Farnham
March 24, 2010
5 lbs. 12 oz.
18 3/4" long

On March 23 I went in to my doctor appointment. They had scheduled an ultrasound because the doctor was worried about Caralee's growth. After they did the ultrasound they did MORE tests. The amniotic fluid was in the normal range but very very low. Any lower and it would've been abnormal. During the ultrasound they measured Caralee and found that she was about the size of a 34/35 gestational week baby (I was 39 weeks at this appointment). I went and met with the doctor and she stripped my membranes (hoping to start labor) and she told me to go and get lunch and come back to do a non-stress test, this is basically just where they monitor the heart beat and to see if I was having contractions. After I did that test the doctor came in and told me that they wanted to induce me immediately the next day. Little Carrie had quit growing and they wanted to get her out before the fluid got any lower or she went into distress. On March 24 at 5 a.m. Sammy and I went to the hospital where they told us the other lady who was induced 2 days ago STILL hadn't had her baby so I needed to go home until she had her baby. So we went home and I got to nap. I still wasn't having any contractions and was only 2 cm dilated (I had been a 2 for the past month). They finally called and said the lady had her baby and it was time for me! We got there around 3 and they started me on pitocin to start labor around 3:30 and broke my water. I started having contractions around 4 but they were just really small and I could barely even tell. Around 5:30 the contractions were coming hard and fast and I was dilating pretty quickly. The doctor came in and I told her I was pretty sure it was time for the baby to come. Sure enough... maybe 5 minutes of pushing and here she came at exactly 7:00 p.m. Luckily my labor and the birth was very easy... I guess due to the small size of baby. She is here and we love her. She had her 2 week check-up yesterday and the doctor said they wanted to make sure that she had gotten back up to her birth weight. Well they laid her on the scale and she weighed 7 lbs and was 20 1/2"!!!!!!! The doctor said she is way ahead of schedule. I was just so proud of her :)
